Shorty doesn't have a backend. All it does is to take a user's request for shorting an URL, minifying the link, recording the details to the database, and then printing out the result on the page.
To reduce a link, open a browser, access the Shorty installation path URL and append the "?url=http://yourlink.com" after it.
This will make Shorty minify "http://yourlink.com" to a shorter URL, which will print out on the screen.
Default response format is HTML, but this can be changed to either text, JSON, or XML.
This is done by adding "&format=text" to the end of the long URL.
Installation instructions are included with the Shorty's README file.
